The Eena-Ahtay AnthroForest project of NDPonics is transforming 77 acres of formerly logged land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia into an indigenous food forest. The indigenous Monacan community is planting culturally and spiritually significant forest food crops on their original land, recording Monacan elders’ knowledge about the land, keeping alive the Monacan language, and growing the community’s agroecological knowledge.
