Marshview Community Organic Farm

Marshview Community Organic Farm in South Carolina is working to improve the economic, social, health, and cultural opportunities for local youth and adults through farming and food. St. Helena Island, where Marshview Farm is located, is one of the most intact Gullah communities remaining today in the US, comprised of descendants of former enslaved Africans living along the southeast Atlantic coast. In addition to youth farming training, Marshview Farm is dedicated to preserving Gullah cultural foodways including how to grow, cook, and market fresh and value-added food products from food crops that have been culturally important to the people of the Lowcountry region for over 400 years.
